Hello fellow machine embroidery fanatics!

I’m thrilled to be the new editor of Creative Machine Embroidery, and I look forward to sharing the latest-and greatest tips and tricks of the embroidery world with you.

I’ll never forget the first time I opened an embroidery machine. I gingerly took everything out of the box and marveled at the contents. How would I ever fully understand the capabilities of this expensive machine? It cost as much as my first car—so I thought I’d better figure out all there was to it and practice on anything and everything. And practice I did. The first design I stitched out was a simple flower with three thread changes. It was so easy! It stitched out beautifully. I began looking around the house, trying to find more things to embroider. It became ridiculous. I wondered if my boyfriend would mind having an embroidered tool belt ... but I quickly decided to leave his things alone (which may be the reason that we’re married today). My point is, I was addicted from the start—and I immediately understood the fascination of other machine embroidery enthusiasts. I wasn’t surprised when I heard of people embroidering toilet paper because I wanted to experiment and test the limits of my machine’s capabilities (and my imagination) too.

I assume that most of you share this fascination and want to get the most out of your machine—you wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t. My mission is to help you do just that. Each issue is filled with new fun and creative ways to utilize your embroidery machine to its fullest potential. And as you turn the pages, you’ll find the inspiration you crave to create your next amazing project. So put down the toilet paper, or your husband’s tool belt, and embroider one (or more) of the amazing projects in this issue. And keep your eyes peeled for the special offers throughout the magazine so you can take advantage of all the deals and steals!
