Easter’s coming up in a little less than a month, so if you’re a fan of adding holiday-appropriate décor, accessories, etc. into your life, now’s the time to start thinking about Easter embroidery. I’ve gathered together some of the Easter-themed and Easter appropriate designs we’ve featured in Creative Machine Embroidery over the years. Read on to see my faves, all of which can be found at shopsewitall.com.

We have a couple Easter projects in our In-the-Hoop column archives. Of course, the ITH Bunny Ears aren’t really from the archive — they’re in the current issue, and so they’re free through the end of April. Grab the download at cmemag.com/freebies and find the instructions in the Mar/Apr 2018 issue of CME.

Another in-the-hoop project is these cute egg holders. They’re easy and quick to make, and would make adorable place tags for Easter dinner with the addition of a place card or name written on the belly.

The Egg-cellent Collection is one of my favorites. I think it’s so neat how each egg shape is filled with a different motif. I’m always trying to figure out my favorite, but it changes every time I try! There’s a four-egg border design and ten individual designs in the collection. Find the full collection here.

To me, Easter always brings with it the image of early spring flowers, which may be my favorite type. These tulip appliqués just shout “spring!” to me.

Finally, check out this cute little Easter Bear design. He’s gone with a very seat-of-your-pants dress-up choice, using socks to make himself bunny ears (he definitely needs to try out that in-the-hoop design!). He wears a jaunty bow-tie and carries a pretty decorated egg.

Be aware, though, that this design is old and only available in SEW and SHV formats, so make sure you have a resource for converting designs if you need a different format. Wilcom’s TrueSizer Web App (truesizerweb.wilcom.com) can convert it to most home formats, or use your own software or take it to your sewing machine dealer on a flash drive and ask them to convert it for you.

What are you planning to make for Easter?
