Oh how I love holiday embroidery designs. Not only are they great for festive home decor, but using holiday themed designs for gifts is a wonderful way to bring a touch of handmade into the holiday season.

Hoop an adhesive-backed sticky stabilizer with the paper side facing up. Score the paper and tear it away to reveal the adhesive within the hoop frame. Position the card where you want it in the hoop and stitch. Be sure to choose a design that doesn’t have a lot of fill stitches to avoid perforating the paper. And make sure your card is heavyweight card stock. After the embroidery is complete, cut away the stabilizer near the design edges and then glue a piece of lightweight decorative paper to the inside of the card to conceal the stabilizer and bobbin threads.
