Thread painting by Transformational Threads Artisans

Thread painting is a technique often seen in art quilts, clothing or other textiles. Thread painting is a beautiful way of embellishing your textiles by “painting” thread on the surface of the textile. If you look at the examples below the end result looks like it too many hours and is very difficult to do. On the contrary! Thread painting is actually quite simple and can take your clothing or quilts to a beautiful new level. Nancy Prince has a great website that tells you how to do thread painting on your next project.  Find out more about thread painting on her site HERE!

Thread painting is a new technique for me. I’ve seen it on quilts, but I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking at. Now I know!  So the question for today is are you interested in thread painting? Would you like to learn more? Have you done thread painting, did it turn out? Would love to know the details.

Answer the above question and you will be entered to win the book Thread Magic Garden by Ellen Anne Eddy.

threadmagicAnd, if you would like to learn more about the thread painting image click HERE to go to their website. The peacock image is from Transformational Threads.

Also, can’t forget about the winner from last Wednesday’s Giveaway. The winner of the quilting books is….Lenora B! She is taking advantage of her local sewing store and using her machine embroidery to work on her quilt. Super! Hope you find these books helpful. Please email me your mailing address at info@cmemag.com and I will get them out soon.

Thanks everyone for reading,

Jill
