I recently returned from the Janome Institute in Orlando. The convention is full of vendors and new products for retailers to peruse and stock their shops for the coming months. Janome unveiled a slew of new revamped machines, including the Memory Craft 11000 Special Edition unveiled by Marie Osmond (via video).

The first night started off with a keynote address by Marci Shimoff, author of Happy for No Reason and Chicken Soup for the Women’s Soul (among others). Marci inspired us to find happiness in all of our life experiences as she lead us through a few “happiness exercises.”

There was little down time from visiting advertisers and companies while on the show floor, but I did manage to get out in the cloudy/sunshine for a couple of hours during our Friday break. Here are some photos I took while sitting by the pool (notice the dark clouds looming overhead!).

And here are a few friends that greeted me.

It would appear that the clouds cooled things off, but that wasn’t true! I still managed to get a little sunburn even after applying 35 sunblock for those precious two hours I had by the pool…that’s what I get for being of German descent and a little white girl from Iowa (as someone told me, who shall remain nameless!).
Anyway, I learned a lot from Janome and was excited to have a Memory Craft Special Edition waiting for me in my office when I returned. I have used it many many times and it’s only been two weeks since it arrived. There are some exciting accessories for this machine that I’m still waiting to try. I’ll let you know how and what I do with them once they get here.
Until Then,
Ellen

I have a Janome and love it! I wish I had known about the convention – I live in Orlando.
