A new year begins at Creative Machine Embroidery, and I know it’s going to be a great one. We like to change things up a bit to further inspire your creativity, and we take cues from fashion and embroidery trends, industry friends and, most importantly, you! This past year you’ve given us some great feedback, and we can’t thank you enough for being the vocal, involved readers that you are.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that the magazine style has changed dramatically. That’s thanks to our new Creative Director, and this is her debut issue! We’re pleased to have Sue Dothage join the team, along with Graphic Designer Erin Hershey and Assistant Graphic Designer Courtney Kraig. Let them know what you like/dislike about the look and feel of the pages at firstname.lastname@example.org.
With the induction of a new art team came some other changes in staff. Now CME and Sew News are operating as one cohesive team. And we’ll be traveling more throughout the year to connect with you and share our love of sewing and embroidery. Find us at select Original Sewing & Quilt Expos (sewingexpo.com), the Puyallup Sewing & Stitchery Expo (sewexpo.com), The American Sewing Expo (americansewingexpo.com) and more! If you’re planning to travel this year, sync up your plans with one of these events. You’re sure to be inspired by the classes, teachers and new products offered—not to mention the crowd of fellow sewing, quilting and embroidery enthusiasts.
Speaking of travel, it’s your last chance to enter for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Austria, Germany and Switzerland for Sulky’s 25th Anniversary Sweepstakes! Entries are accepted until midnight on Dec. 31, and the first-, second- and third-prize winners will be announced on Jan. 2. Visit sulky.com or facebook. com/sulkyofamerica to enter. I’m one of the lucky ones invited to tag along on this fabulous trip taking place in April, and I’m really excited to visit the factories where Sulky rayon and polyester threads are made. I’ll give you the full report in our Sept./Oct. issue, along with a profile of the Grand Prize winner and plenty of photos.
Thanks for reading and enjoy the issue!
