Celebrating 10 years!

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Creative Machine Embroidery! The embroidery world has come a long way since our first issue was published. Very few readers were Web savvy back then—many were using embroidery cards and floppy disks to transfer designs. But now most designs are downloaded online and sent to the machine via USB. Technology is amazing!

Since 2001, the world has changed immensely due to the social networking revolution (texting and Tweeting and Skyping, oh my!), and CME has been along for the ride. There’s so much to do in cyberspace—so many people to meet and information to absorb. A quick search of “machine embroidery” generates over one million results on Google alone. That’s why we’re here to filter through it all and bring you the best, most enjoyable and relevant information to fuel your creativity. The world may have changed and the technology may have advanced, but we’re still committed to helping you get the most out of your embroidery machine.

To commemorate this 10th anniversary issue, we’re bringing you 10 awe-inspiring projects, varying from garments to accessories to home décor. We’re also giving you 10 free design downloads and unveiling 10 must-have products. And that’s not all! mThe first-ever CME Scavenger Hunt begins this month and spans all year. Turn to page 9 to learn all about how you can enter to win fabulous prizes!

Thank you so much for reading CME, whether you’re a new reader or you’ve been with us from the beginning. We look forward to experiencing the next wave of embroidery innovation with you!

With gratitude,

Ellen March
