Happy Holidays!
It’s time to deck the halls with fabulous embroidered wall hangings, magnificent table runners, heirloom stockings and ornate tree skirts. In anticipation of the decorating frenzy that’s about to ensue, we’re bringing you tons of project ideas to add to the mix of things you’re taking out of storage.
I absolutely love home décor that easily adapts to suit several holidays. Wouldn’t it be lovely if all pillows, linens and window coverings were reversible? Thanksgiving could turn into Christmas in the blink of an eye—and without having to lug more boxes out of the basement. If you have the same dream, turn to page 32 for “Double-Duty Décor.” Not only does the mantel scarf easily transform into a table runner, but it also has removable sections that showcase different designs depending on the holiday. Talk about double duty!
If you’re looking to impress your holiday party guests, make embroidered soap to display in the bathroom. Your family and friends will marvel at your ingenuity and wonder just how you did it! Find the full instructions on page 24. Of course we have great gift ideas packed into this issue. And there’s no better time like the present (no pun intended) to get started on your gift list. In-the-hoop projects are great timesavers—choose one design and personalize it for everyone on your list. Check out “Happy Feet” on page 46 for a truly original idea for the ladies in your life.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and I wish you error-free embroidery and stunning stitchouts from my sewing room to yours.
